Tenho andado meio sumido do blog, mas resolvi aparecer para trazer esta notícia que já não é tão nova, mas não poderia deixar de divulgar.

A banda Theocracy depois de um longo período de sete anos sem lançar nenhuma novidade nos surpreende com um trabalho excelente.

Intitulado de "Mosaic" e com um som digno da discografia da banda.

[News] Banda Tourniquet está de volta com novo trabalho este ano!

A banda Tourniquet está de volta depois de quatro anos de seu último lançamento "Onward to Freedom".
O grupo recentemente começou a divulgar material em sua página no Facebook do que virá, dentre as informações temos possível capa do cd, os músicos e também uma faixa completa em alta qualidade.
A qualidade da faixa é enorme e remete ao "antigo" Tourniquet.
Tem trechos da música que lembra a época do Microscopic View Of A Telescopic Realm (2000) e Where Moth Rust and Destroy (2003).
O lançamento está programado para o verão de 2018.

[News] Novo trabalho da banda Essence Of Sorrow!

Depois de uma longa espera (desde 2007) a banda finalmente está de volta e com álbum novo para breve.
Assim como a banda Narnia está de volta, Essence Of Sorrow volta e espero que seja com força total.
Algumas alterações no seu line up, mas certamente podemos aguardar mais um excelente trabalho do multi instrumentista Jani Stefanovic.
Diferente do excelente "Reflections of  the Obscure" o novo álbum terá somente um vocalista.

“So many kids were coming up to us after shows and telling us their stories,” says Theocracy vocalist Matt Smith. “A lot of them were searching for purpose and a place to fit in, and having grown up as an awkward and unpopular kid myself, their words really stuck with me. I started thinking about what a band of misfits Jesus’ disciples were: fishermen, tax collectors, and people of little consequence in the eyes of the world. [News] Novo álbum da banda Harmony em Novembro!

A banda "Harmony" (Suécia) está de volta com novo trabalho para bem próximo.
O último trabalho da banda foi "Chapter II - Aftermath" em 2008.
Longo período sem registro em estúdio, mas finalmente a banda está com novo trabalho previsto para novembro de 2014.

Trazendo algumas novidades:

Primeiro, a banda está se denominando "Melodic Metal". Então podemos esperar que a banda venha com um som um pouco diferente dos demais trabalhos.
Não que eles já não tivessem muita influência do "melodic metal", mas parece que estarão dando mais ênfase a esta linha de som.

Segundo, fizeram uma reformulação no "line up" da banda e para nossa surpresa o baixista é brasileiro. É isto mesmo o baixista é Brasileiro.
Foi convocado para assumir o lugar do "Andreas Olsson" (Divinefire, Narnia) neste cd o "Raphael Dafras" (Germán Pascual, Almah).
Parece que ter trabalhado com o "Germán Pascual" rendeu mais frutos que se esperava. O que é muito bom.

Mudaram também o vocalista, então vamos aguardar para sabermos se mudou para melhor ou não.
Já estávamos acostumados com o "Henrik Båth" (Darkwater, Night Watch), mas esperamos que se encaixe bem ao estilo da banda.

A capa está sensacional!

Espero ansioso por este lançamento. Banda esta que está se destacando e muito com seu Progressive metal apresentado no cd Anhedonia - 2012.

O teaser deixa somente um gostinho do que vem por aí, mas vale a pena uma conferida!

[News] Deliverance lançou novo álbum no final de 2013!

Depois de muitos anos sem lançar nada eis que surge um novo cd pelo que tudo indica ser o último registro da banda.
O último trabalho inédito da banda foi em 2007 com o cd "As Above - So Below".
Ouvi o sampler das novas músicas e o cd me chamou a atenção pela velha pegada da banda.
Como pode-se perceber na descrição do vídeo no Youtube, a gravadora realmente afirma ser este o final dos trabalhos em estúdio desta banda que fez e faz parte da minha vida.

THEOCRACY: "THEOCRACY" RE-ISSUE DETAILS REVEALED

The self-titled debut album from the Athens, Georgia-based melodic metal band THEOCRACY will be re-released through Ulterium Records on November 15th in Europe and November 19th in North America. 

THEOCRACY drummer Shawn Benson recorded drums on all tracks, while nothing else was re-recorded. Matt Smith completely re-mixed the album, with the mastering handled by Mika Jussila [Stratovarius, Nightwish, Edguy]. The THEOCRACY debut album was originally released through MetalAges Records in 2003, and is currently very rare and hard to find.

Como podemos ler acima, a banda estará trazendo uma releitura do primeiro trabalho da banda.
No lançamento original a banda era formada por apenas uma pessoa (Matt Smith).
O cara conseguiu fazer absolutamente tudo neste trabalho.
Trabalho este que já se tornou raridade, pois posteriormente mudaram de gravadora.
Tenho muita sorte de ter este primeiro trabalho em cd original fazendo parte da minha coleção.
Aguardo ansioso para saber como ficou este cd que já foi mencionado como um dos melhores trabalhos de power metal.

[News] Novo álbum da banda Australiana de Metal Progressivo, Teramaze!

Several years after the release of their EP Not The Criminal, Australia’s progressive metal band Teramaze returns with their latest release Anhedonia.  And they do not disappoint.  From the opening of the title track to the last notes on the bonus track “Ever Enhancing II”, the band leads you through musical twists and turns that makes this album such a delight.

 The album kicks off with the title track “Anhedonia”.  And with the first few notes, you can hear the refined sound that the band has.  The drumming and guitarwork is almost like a galloping steed.  When the vocals kick in, everything melds perfectly.  “Without Red Hands” jumps right in after “Anhedonia” and give you a kick in the pants.  It reminds me a bit of Believer’s Gabriel album – progressive with some speed.  It has a nice edge without going too far.  “Through The Madness” slows things down a bit for a nice mid-tempo song.  This particular song sounds a bit like Antithesis with the tight guitar/bass, the amazing drumming and the near-gritty vocals.  This is also the first song with a proper guitar solo section, which is pulled off superbly – flashy without being over-the-top. “Machine” is an interesting tune that’s really showcases the band’s progressive prowess – changing time signatures on a dime without missing a beat.  Quite the treat for any progressive metal fan.

“Acts of Reparation” starts off with a solid groove that lays the groundwork for some great hooks.  The bass and drums provide a great backdrop for the guitar solos as well.  And the drumming even get a bit of the spotlight as well, which is well deserved.  “Fear of the Unknown” is another progressive gem.  The guitars on this track are just so well woven, moving in and out of various riffs while complimenting each other.  “Black Circles” keeps the progressive groove going with more time changes all throughout the song.  Brett’s vocals is a highlight of this song – switching between singing and near-screaming with ease.  Next up is “Proverb Le Jame”.  This song is more melodic that most of the other tracks but Teramaze pulls it off without any difficulty.  The symphonic parts just add to the appeal of the song and aren’t overbearing.  “Where The Dead Grow” is slower and more brooding than any other song.  It’s also the longest song on the album, clocking at just over 7 minutes.  It starts off slow and then gets into a nice mid-paced groove.  There are even some symphonic parts in the song, which gives it a nice variety.

“Egostatic” closes out the regular tracks on the album.  It picks up the pace again with the up-front guitar attack and the never-ceasing onslaught of the drums and bass.  This is another solid song performed with some tight musicianship.  “Ever Enhancing II” is the bonus song that closes the album.  It’s an updated version of their song “Ever Enhancing” from their Doxology album.  It’s an acoustical number with symphonic elements.  You can tell that this is definitely a very heart-felt performance by the group.

 Overall, this is a fantastic album well worth picking up – whether you’re a progressive metal fan or not.  There are no filler songs and the musicianship of every song is spectacular.  All of the songs solid and stand on their own.  Some of my favorite songs from this album are the title track “Anhedonia”, “Without Red Hands”, “Black Circles” and “Ever Enhancing II”.  Be sure to get your copy to enjoy some great metal.

Em dezembro de 2003 teve a primeira demo "Called" liberada na net a qual abriu algumas portas para a banda!
Em outubro de 2006 teve seu primeiro album " Life War" lançado Pela Bombworks Records US".

Eu particularmente gostei muito da banda quando a ouvi pela primeira vez.
O som é muito bom e segundo consta, dizem que tem influencia de Angra antigo.
Percebi alguma influência de Helloween, com um power muito bom.

Altamente recomendado, pois o som é muito bom.

Mehida, banda de Progressive Melodic Metal da Finlandia.
Mais uma banda da terra do metal melodico.
Segundo consta este album era para ser o segundo da banda Wingdom.
Fizeram este que é um pouco diferente do apresentado no Wingdom, mas que tem suas particularidades e músicas muito boas.

Neal Morse

Neal Morse, faz um som Progressive Rock/Metal que muitos admiram e respeitam.
Depois que conheci o som da banda pude perceber o quanto tem gente boa fazendo música para Deus.
Cara das antigas que se converteu e passou a adorar a Deus com sua música.
Participação especialíssima de Mike Portnoy (ex baterista do Dream Theater) em muitos trabalhos do Morse.

Bom demais!!

Morse está voltando com seu antigo projeto Transatlantic (aportado por 7 anos), e trás um grupo de peso:
Mike Portnoy (ex Dream Theater), Pete Trewavas (Marillion) e Roine Stolt (The FlowerKings).

Espero que a banda assuma uma postura cristã já que o Morse hoje o é.

Wingdom, banda de Progressive Metal da Finlandia.
Talvez esta seja a única banda cristã de prog metal sem as misturas que atualmente temos.
Já conheço a algum tempo e não sei porque não a coloquei aqui antes.
Uma falha lamentável se levarmos em consideração a qualidade da banda.

Altamente recomendado aos fãs do gênero.

Infelizmente a banda acabou.
